Merrick Schaefer brought experience from a 10 year software development career to international development as a founding member of the UNICEF Innovation Team. His work focuses on the intersection of technology and development across a wide range of sectors.  He is particularly focused on mHealth and was the manager of Programme Mwana, an mHealth system in Zambia and Malawi, that was one of the first to reach national scale. Merrick is also an avid rock climber of 20 years, and often can be found dangling off cliffs in far flung corners of the world.
