Cara Mertes has overseen the activities of Sundance Institute’s Documentary Film Program and Fund since 2006. The DFP is a global resource for independent contemporary documentary, offering funding, awards and creative support to documentary filmmakers and the field. Mertes is the recipient of multiple awards including Emmy Awards, Peabody Award and DuPont-Columbia Awards, and the ACLU Freedom of Expression Award.
