A Special Series on Advancing Global Education, Focusing on Africa
The Financial Times’ This Is Africa, in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, presents a high level thought-leadership series on strategies for Africa to harness its natural resource wealth to drive the structural transformation of the continent’s economies. The series comes on the first anniversary of Education First, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s groundbreaking initiative to tackle the key challenges in global education - universal access and better learning. It also comes at a critical time for the world, as the international community decides what will succeed the Millennium Development Goals. With more half the world’s out-of-school children in sub-Saharan Africa, and learning outcomes lagging other regions, tackling these challenges is critical to its long-term development.
To spotlight this series among innovative leaders and development practitioners around the world, the Skoll World Forum is proud to serve as a media partner for this initiative.
