The Skoll World Forum provides an unparalleled opportunity for funders to connect with leaders who are challenging the status quo, implementing game-changing innovation and redefining social challenges worldwide.

The objective is to accelerate their – and your – impact. We strive to create an environment where you can make the most of your time: learning, collaborating and exploring high-value partnerships.

Among the special activities dedicated to the funding community, a specific track is organized to surface, articulate and further mutual financial and strategic goals of social entrepreneurs and the people and organizations that fund them.

Additionally, funders may be invited to several invitation-only events which are designed to help you connect with other funders or those working on the ground in similar sectors and/or geographies. Invitations for these small gatherings will be distributed individually via email.

The Forum is an unparalleled opportunity for media to connect with the world’s leading social entrepreneurs, funders, social investors, corporate leaders and policy-makers.

About the Forum

The Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship is the premier international platform for advancing entrepreneurial approaches to solve the world’s most pressing problems. Our mission is to accelerate the impact of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs by uniting them with essential partners in a collaborative pursuit of learning, leverage and large-scale social change.

Each year, nearly 1,000 hand-selected delegates from the social, finance, private and public sectors convene for three days and nights in Oxford, England. Attendees representing nearly 65 countries participate in critical debates, dedicated networking events, self-organized sessions, small group workshops and compelling panel and plenary sessions.

Program content spans global issues that are increasingly more interconnected than ever before: water, food security, climate change, education, human rights, social equity and emerging social business models. The Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship

The Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford is a leading academic entity for the advancement of social entrepreneurship worldwide. Media Onsite Registration

Media will have a special check-in desk at Saïd Business School to pick up a media badge and programme. All Media must pre-register. Media who have not pre-registered will not be given any access.

The Skoll World Forum provides an unparalleled opportunity to build cross-sector knowledge and understanding, to showcase established and emerging solutions to complex social issues and to champion the latest thought leadership among social entrepreneurs and other critical audiences.

It’s a uniquely powerful conversation. We look to our speakers and moderators to set the tone and pace – bringing and sharing their expertise, developing innovative, interactive sessions and engaging delegates in meaningful discussion and debate.

Accommodation

Although travel and accommodation are not provided by the Skoll World Forum, we have reserved room blocks at several convenient hotels in the heart of Oxford. For more information, please contact speakers@skollfoundation.org. Room blocks are available until 01 March 2013.

Bio and Photo

Speakers will be asked to provide a bio and photo for use on the website and in the printed programme.
BIO: You will be asked to submit a brief biography in English, within an 80 word maximum (430 characters, including spaces).

PHOTO: You will be asked to submit a high-resolution original portrait photograph (head and shoulders only in an EPS, JPG, BMP, or TIFF format. As a guide, a JPG image of head and shoulders should be at least 1MB. Please note that images taken from the Internet will not be of sufficient quality for the printed programme.

For speakers and moderators, this private luncheon is a great way to connect with other speakers and moderators on your panel. During lunch, we will provide a concise briefing to help set your expectations and prepare you for your upcoming sessions.

This year marks the Tenth Anniversary of the Skoll World Forum and we looking forward to seeing you to celebrate this special occasion. The Skoll World Forum provides a great opportunity for Skoll Awardees (SASEs) to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and essential partners from government, academia, corporations and funding institutions. We strive to create an environment where you can make the most of your time: learning, collaborating and exploring high-value partnerships.

Please note: None of the activities listed below are open to the general public, only to SASEs and colleagues.

Room Blocks

As in prior years, we have reserved room blocks for all Skoll Awardees. Your name will be on a list provided to the hotel acknowledging your role at the Forum and giving you access to reserve one of these rooms. Space is extremely limited – please make your hotel reservation as soon as possible to ensure accommodation. Because of space limitations, we regret that we cannot offer additional rooms to colleagues of SASEs. Click here for a list of Oxford accommodations where your colleagues may wish to stay. Colleagues may also find the Oxford City Guide a helpful online booking tool in the search for accommodation for the Skoll World Forum.

Pricing

Registration is waived for ALL SASEs. The SASEs with active grants have money designated in the grant for SWF travel and accommodations. For those SASEs who no longer have an active grant with us and express financial need that would prevent you from attending, please contact Laura Vais at lvais@skollfoundation.org and she will work with you directly on your needs. Colleagues will be asked to pay the non-profit organization rate of $1100+VAT per person, plus travel and lodging expenses.
