Brigadier General Ron Sconyers (USAF, Ret.) is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Physicians for Peace, which transforms lives by training, supporting and empowering healthcare professionals working with the world’s underserved populations. General Sconyers was previously a career military officer in the U.S. Air Force. While on active duty, he served in a number of command and staff positions, culminating in his assignment as the Director of Public Affairs for the Secretary of the Air Force. His public affairs work earned him, among other recognitions, four prestigious Silver Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), induction into the PRSA College of Fellows, and inclusion as a charter inductee into the PRSA National Capital Chapter’s Hall of Fame. He has served on the board of InterAction, an international membership organization of humanitarian and global development agencies and recently helped found the Old Dominion University Center for Global Health where he now serves on its advisory board.
