Kate James leads the foundation’s global communications efforts to raise awareness and build engagement around global poverty, health, and US education issues. Kate oversees all communications and brand functions, including driving public engagement on the issues the foundation champions, managing reputation risk, and building media partnerships to support independent coverage of critical development and education issues. Prior to joining the foundation, Kate worked in the financial services industry, where she most recently served as Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Communications for Citibank. She has held senior leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank and GlaxoSmithKline in the areas of communications, international government relations, strategy, and sustainability. Kate is also a board member for Vital Voices Global Partnership and a trustee of Trade plus Aid.
