Jenna Wachtel is an Associate Program Consultant for New Teacher Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving student learning by accelerating the effectiveness of teachers and school leaders. There, she works directly with teachers and the coaches of teachers in high-needs, low-income communities to enhance teacher practice and expertise, resulting in tremendous gains in student achievement. With a dedicated team, Jenna is launching the New Teacher Center's Early Learning Initiative which will increase access to high-quality support for teachers serving children ages 3-5. Prior to joining New Teacher Center, Jenna completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Stanford University and taught kindergarten and first grade for 6 years. She is a passionate advocate for children and their teachers and believes deeply in the power of education to address issues of intergenerational poverty.
