Announcing d.light’s 2011 Fellowship Opportunities

I’m often approached by individuals who want to contribute to d.light‘s mission in a meaningful way. One of the best ways in which you can do so is through our Fellowship Program.

We just announced our 2011 d.light Fellowship opportunities, which I honestly think are the most exciting crop of Fellowships we have ever offered. Our ten-month opportunities include:

  • Be d.light‘s point person in Port Au Prince, Haiti, as our Haiti Market Development Fellow. Take the lead in moving our distribution from disaster relief to sustainable retail channels.
  • Work closely with d.light distributors throughout Africa as our Africa Business Development Fellow based in Nairobi, Kenya. Strengthen d.light‘s partnerships and go-to-market strategies in our fastest-growing sales regions.
  • Bring your creative energies to d.light‘s internal and external communications as our Chief Communications Fellow in the San Francisco Bay Area. Build upon the great publicity that we have already gotten by expanding our presence in both traditional and social media.
  • Design products that will vastly improve the lives of millions of base-of-the-pyramid families. Our Research & Development Fellowship in Shenzhen, China, is the perfect opportunity for an innovative techie with a passion for people.
  • Bolster d.light‘s partnerships with NGOs and government institutions as our Global Partner Development Fellow in Washington, DC. Play a key role in increasing our reach to the poorest families through grants, aid organizations, and government programs.

And if these cool projects aren’t enough for you, every Fellow will be supervised and mentored by one of d.light‘s senior managers, such as the CEO or the Co-Founders. Every Fellow also has the opportunity to do direct fieldwork and to learn about the inner workings of d.light operations.
